Full Day Tour: Colosseum, Roman Forum, Vatican With Transfers
Description
*After meeting with your guide at the designated meeting point, you will be able to skip the lines and directly enter the world’s largest amphitheater with your “skip the line” ticket. Once inside, your tour guide will bring the Colosseum to life by explaining the spectacular fights that the gladiators put on for the crowds. You will learn about the complex engineering used by the Romans to build what is still considered to be the most technologically advanced entertainment complex of its time. Your guide will then take you to the second level of the Colosseum, where you will be able to enjoy the beautiful view of the arena and all of the seating areas.
Next, you will proceed to the Roman Forum, an archaeological site that represented the commercial, legal, and administrative center of Ancient Rome. You will feel as though you have been transported back in time to the Imperial age of Rome as you stroll through the ruins of ancient temples and Roman mausoleums, such as the Roman senate and the original altar where Julius Caesar’s body was cremated.
After the Roman Forum, an English-speaking driver will pick you up and take you way across town to explore the world-renowned Vatican museums and two of the most important churches in the world: the Sistine Chapel and St. Peter’s Basilica. The grandeur and attention to detail will leave you in awe. Highlights of the Basilica include Michelangelo’s Pieta, the imposing 29-meter-tall Baldacchin by Bernini, and the mosaics that decorate the entire ceiling.
